Month of jihad

Consider what your taxes buy.

From the White House website comes this inspirational message to Muslims everywhere on the occasion of Ramadan, that holiest of times when jihadis kill while fasting from sunrise to sunset.

Ramadan has long been known even to Muslims as “the month of jihad,” as one prominent Islamic cleric called it, when jihad terror attacks increase in numerical frequency.

George Bush is apparently oblivious to this documented statistical correlation, and as usual he is unctuously full of gushing respect, as he characteristically is regarding all things Islamic:

I send greetings to Muslims observing Ramadan in America and around the globe.

The holy month of Ramadan is a special time of prayer, fasting, and service. For Muslims, these days commemorate the revelation of God’s word to the prophet Muhammad in the form of the Qur’an.

Of course, jihad is a sacred—sacramental, even—obligation to Muslims, so despite that violence is contrary to our understanding of genuine religious devotion, it stands to reason that many Muslims deem it quite appropriate for devout observance of the holy month—a special time of prayer, fasting, and pious mayhem.

Incidentally, I want to stab myself in the ear whenever I hear a western leader refer to “The Prophet.”

I thank the men and women of the Muslim community for their contributions to America. Your love of family and gratitude to God have strengthened the moral fabric of our country. Our nation is stronger and more hopeful because of the generosity, talents, and compassion of our Muslim citizens.

Laura and I send our best wishes.

Ramadan Mubarak.

GEORGE W. BUSH

Yes, Muslims have contributed abundantly to our grateful nation.  Let me count the ways.  OK, I’m done counting.  And their generosity to each other—it knows no bounds.  Truly, Muslim love of family is inspiring.  I find myself singing, “I want a girl, just like one of the four girls that married dear old dad!” or “Thank Heaven for little girls” (viz out zem vhat vould leetle boys screw?) whenever I think about it.  And the steadily increasing representative percentage of Muslims among us, both here and in Europe, gives us so much hope for the future.

Maybe someone can clear up a little mystery for me, though.  Exactly why is it impossible for George or Condi even to mention Islam without noting the legendary “compassion” of Muslims?  No one feels similarly compelled to speak of the compassion of Christians, just as no one needs to go out of his way continually to define Christianity as a religion of peace.

Must be the Crusades and those abortion-clinic bombings.

Ramadan Mubarak.

Good grief.

Meanwhile, in Egypt, MUSLIM women are reporting to the western press, and it is actually being picked up by the BEEB that they are constantly being physically attacked by roving gangs of men. The veil, which was supposed to make them safe has only proven how vulnerable and disrespected women are in Islam. It is only going to amp up the further into Ramadan they go.

Indeed, Scherzo, because in Islam, the more pious you are, the more radical. So too, during the month of Ramadan, when piety is being cultivated, jihad and pious violence kick into high gear.

Just today, the first Friday of Ramadan, Friday prayers ended in Palestinian riots, and you’re right that this sort of stuff will only get worse as we near October.

Ramadan: a time of prayer, fasting, and pious mayhem.

I feel the insanity will only get worse, the more radicalized these men become. While there are a few shills for Islam among the women, the tilth crowd is personae non gratae and made more invisible by their portable tents, until the men need a punching bag, a foot rest, or a toilet into which they may relieve themselves.

yeah, we had a similar thought…even more amazing is the number of US newspapers that pandered to Muslims as well Bush panders to Muslims on Ramadan advent, lauds American Muslims’ contribution
