St. James the Moor Slayer

Statue of St. James, patron saint of Spain

This is another photo test of Windows Live Writer, celebrating one “small victory,” as a friend who put me on to it put it, for all of us and particularly for the good guys in Spain. It seems the statue of Spain’s patron saint is offensive to local Muslims, but it will nevertheless remain on display thanks to public outcry over a decision by Church bureaucrats, capitulating to the outraged Muslim minority, to remove it from its traditional place in the cathedral Santiago de Compostela.

Coming soon: Geert Wilders’ film

UPDATE FOR MARCH 22: The site announcing the movie has been blocked by the host provider. Following the link below now leads to a static page on which the host, Network Solutions, displays a message indicating that the movie site’s “content” is being investigated for terms of use violations. The message contends that the provider has received several complaints about said content. Isn’t it rich? Thus far the site’s content has consisted entirely of the teaser “COMING SOON,” as seen in the graphic above. Send in the clowns.

Count me as one who waits breathlessly for the movie’s release, which has already been too long in coming.

It looks like the courageous Mr. Wilders is preparing to make good on his threat to publish the film on the Internet should Dutch TV decline to air it, as they have now indeed refused to do.

You can join me in watching for it to be posted here.
